Step 1:

In this example, we will create a nested style that can be applied to any number of characters at the start of a paragraph. As before, we begin by creating the character style which will later be used as the nested style.

1. Choose Window - Type and Tables - Character Styles.
2. Choose New Character Style from the Character Styles palette menu.
3. Enter the style name.
4. Set the attributes that you want for the new style.
5. Click OK to confirm the creation of the new character style.
