Step 3: Applying the paragraph and nested character styles
To apply both the paragraph and nested character styles, simply highlight the required text and click on the name of the paragraph style in the Paragraph Styles palette.
As per our instructions, the paragraph styles formats the whole paragraph with the exception of the first character which is controlled by the nested character style, changing the font of the first letter to Wingdings and its colour to green.
